Possible short-term outage

The rptools.net nameserver records are moving from HostGator to GoDaddy in the next few days. The email from HostGator says it will take a few days for them to process and they’ll send me a code to use to transfer it to GoDaddy. During that transfer period, there may be outages where the main web site and forums will not be reachable. Don’t freak out!

During the outage (if there is one), our Discord server will still be up and operating, as will the wiki.

We hope you are all doing well.

The RPTools team, together with numerous volunteer heroes, have done it again!! A great improvement to MapTool is here and will enhance your roleplaying experience even more.

MapTool v1.12.0 BETA-1 has been released for your testing and can be downloaded from the MapTool GitHub repo.

This release contains 34 bug fixes and brings several new features such as:

Darkness (i.e. lights with negative lumens) now affect vision on maps set to Day or Off.
Improved performance on maps with many lights.
The different VBL types and MBL can now be added to tokens via the Edit Token dialog and a number of macro functions for manipulating VBL/MBL have been added as well.
Improvements to new Add-On functionality.

MapTool 1.11.4 Released

MapTool v1.11.4 has been released and can be downloaded from the MapTool GitHub repo.

This release contains a fix for the Log4Shell vulnerability (the RPTools applications don’t appear vulnerable, but we’re updating anyway just to be cautious) and various bug fixes:

Token size being reset upon loading of older campaigns.
Calling playStream() without a start time could cause exceptions after playback stopped.
onInitiativeChange event was not triggering unless onInitiativeChangeRequest was also on the same Lib: token.
If your campaign uses Lib: tokens and calls macros from dialogs, frames, or overlays, you may need to go into the new Lib:Token Properties tab of the Edit Token dialog to enable Allow URI Access.
